Blake Ashburn

After 10 years as a graphic designer, Blake found a passion in personal training and Pilates. While realizing that he wasn't a 'personal trainer', Pilates struck his interest and form.

In 2014, Blake decided to take the plunge into the world of Classical Pilates, by starting his training with Peak Pilates. Starting from scratch, he quickly learned that the world of Pilates was much more than he ever imagined. During his Level 1 training, he found a passion deeper than he thought he could through his training and clients, which brought him to Level 2. Level 2 gave Blake an understanding of Pilates that delved him deeper into his training, while opening his eyes to new exercises while building upon the foundation of Joseph Pilates.

Blake has a strong focus of fundamental exercises, core exercises, and fun wrapped into a 55 minute session that will empower you to not only work harder, but feel stronger throughout your day.

Alexis Ambruso

Alexis Ambruso is originally from Newington, CT. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.F.A in Dance and English Minor from Long Island University Brooklyn. She is a classically trained Pilates Instructor from Core Pilates NYC and NASM Certified Personal Trainer with addition training in Pre/Postnatal Pilates and Corrective Exercise. Alexis was first introduced to the Pilates method while recovering from surgery due to multiple ligament damage in her ankle. She found that Pilates could safely rebuild her body to regain mobility, strength and balance through a full range of motion. Although her relationship with the method began during a challenging time, she is grateful to have found that her investment in learning and teaching is her own beacon of light, an outlet to be creative and help others. In her teaching, Alexis uses the Pilates method as a tool to facilitate awareness, control, artistry, and alignment. Whether the time with Alexis is a class or private session, it is an experience that brings clients closer with their body in a safe, encouraging, and inviting manner. Alexis believes in working from the ground up, understanding the fundamentals of the Pilates method to sense the mind-body connection within each exercise. She strives to help clients realize sustainable changes in their body, to feel supported and work within their own limits. Using her vast and detailed dance training, Alexis exploits the artistry within all movement, including Pilates. Her pedagogy stems from correct anatomical alignment and kinesthetic awareness: maintaining a healthy spine and working efficiently to safely push clients physically boundaries and mental limits. Her sessions are dynamic, creative, and mindfully unpredictable at times. Her goal is to help you leave with a smile, a bit of sweat and encouraged to keep working hard!
